2022 Software Development Interns null

Objectives

• Selected interns will get to learn and gain hands-on experience in software application development and technical support activities, such as programming/ coding/ scripting, testing, troubleshooting/ debugging, and performing related activities like technical analysis and design, systems support and maintenance, and participating in software development processes.
• Various technology roles in different development/functional teams will be offered, i.e., data engineering/ analytics, business systems, frontend/ backend/ full-stack applications development in various platforms, information security and governance, and technology operations and product development.
• Selection will be based on candidates’ academic performance, technical skills and knowledge relevance, communication/ leadership capabilities, as well as their career interests.
• This opportunity also hopes to progress the selected interns directly into employment with AIA upon their successful university/college graduation.

Roles and Responsibilities

• Gain experience from working on projects and BAU activities.
• Learn and use programming languages to solve problems in developing applications.
• Work as a team and take responsibility with the team for what you build and enable a “you build it/you run it” mindset.
• Share the knowledge internally and externally through brown-bag sessions, blogging and meetups.
• Take the initiative to seek opportunities to improve existing engineering practices.
• Be responsible for the health, performance, and stability of assigned systems.
• Take ownership of tasks assigned and a proactive approach at work.

Minimum Requirements

• Final Year Engineering/ Computer Science (or related disciplines) undergraduates
• At least 4 months’ internship duration is preferred (6 months or more would be ideal)
• Demonstrate good or above-average academic records in the university
• Have a strong interest in Software Development/ Engineering
• Have good problem solving and analytical skills
• Having experience with any development platforms/ tools is a plus
• Ability to work under tight deadlines, and a fast learner
• Strong attention to detail and the ability to ensure accuracy
• Excellent English communication skills are required for interaction with other teams across different countries/regions
