Co-op/ Intern

The Role:

Intern with an industry leading Graphics IP team which specializes in the design and verification of AMD's Graphics Processing Units (GPUs). You will work with the team on current development projects, contributing to work on GPU architecture, high speed digital design, and verification using the latest industry standard tools and methodologies.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with architects, hardware engineers, and verification engineers to understand the development targets and metrics
  • Create and review microarchitecture specifications and test plans
  • Implement hardware components using HDLs and implement UVM verification environments
  • Debug test failures to determine the root cause; work with engineers to resolve design defects and correct errors
  • Contribute to review of functional and code coverage metrics; enhance the hardware implementation and verification environments to improve quality
  • Identify and implement opportunities for improving AMD’s ASIC design and verification environment

Preferred Experience:

  • Hardware development using a Hardware Description Language such as Verilog, SystemVerilog, or VHDL
  • Software development using C++ or other OO languanges
  • Use of hardware or software debug tools in Unix/Linux OS environments
  • Graphics pipeline knowledge

Relevant Experience:

  • Configuration Management – Perforce
  • Issue Tracking - Atlassian JIRA
  • Scripting languages such as Python, Perl, and shell scripts

Academic Credentials:

  • Completion of the penultimate year of a Bachelor’s degree in Electrical or Computer Engineering, or a related field
