The role

We have an exciting opportunity for an Oracle applications database administrator to join our team to work on managing complex Oracle E-Business Suite and Oracle database environments accessed by over 15,000 users globally. You will join the data platforms team that provides database support and data services to Arup and play a key role in the delivery of several technically challenging projects.

Responsibilities

  • Support and maintenance of Oracle E-Business Suite R12.2 payroll and HRMS environments
  • Oracle E-Business Suite patch application, cloning multi-tier environments, upgrades and troubleshooting
  • Ensuring database environments are performing according to agreed SLAs
  • Oracle database and WebLogic middleware administration
  • Capacity planning, installation, configuration, database design, migration, integrity, security, planning, development, backup and data recovery of DT’s database environments
  • Deploying High availability and disaster recovery solutions
  • Managing technology risk, governance and compliance
  • Performance tuning of SQL and PL/SQL code
  • Database migrations to Azure Cloud
  • Providing basic Linux and Windows Operating systems support
  • Providing second and third line support

Requirements

  • In-depth experience in Oracle E-business Suite (R12) Payroll and Oracle Database Core Technology, including Data Guard, RMAN and ASM
  • Excellent knowledge of Oracle Weblogic Middleware support and maintenance
  • Ability to configure complex database environments comprising of failover and high availability
  • Strong SQL and PL/SQL development and performance tuning skills
  • Working knowledge of Oracle Enterprise Manager
  • Basic Linux administration
  • Excellent problem solving, interpersonal, analytical, planning and written/verbal communication skills
  • SQL Server administration, AWS and other Cloud database services experience
  • Working knowledge of ITIL service management processes
  • Previous service delivery and service management experience
  • Oracle Virtual Machine knowledge
