About the Role

We seek a highly motivated individual to join our dynamic team as Analyst Supply in the Payment Services team, reporting to Lead Supply Payment Services, you will be responsible to coordinate the work activities and execution of Payment Services, ensuring efficient and effective response to vendor queries, reconcile general ledger accounts and adhering to defined policies and procedures for Commercial.

Responsibilities

  • Investigation and reconciliation of GR/IR imbalance
  • Provide quality phone calls or email support to BHP personnel and/or vendors regarding payment queries
  • Log, troubleshoot and escalate calls and emails as appropriate
  • Reconcile creditors and other general ledger accounts as required
  • Knowledge and understanding of Vendor Master, Purchasing, Service Entry Sheet and Invoice Processes and provision of support for these where required
  • Identify and support payment process improvement projects
  • Good understanding of the query management system and SAP procurement and invoicing processes with the ability to investigate Purchase Orders, workflows and held invoices and interrogate the status of these to perform tasks in relation to customer/vendor queries. 
  • Participate and support activities required to meet the Purchasing section and Supply department business plan and key performance indicators
  • Maintain relationships with key customers at the Supervisor/maintenance planner level (within our business) and key contacts within our vendor's businesses
  • Maintain relationships with Contracts Specialists, Category Specialists and Procurement Analysts within the Category Management team
  • Actively participate in ensuring Monitoring & Controlling activities are executed and take corrective actions as required.
  • Provide assistance with internal and external audit requirements
  • Actively contribute towards achieving set performance targets and KPIs 
  • Develop supportive relationships with others in the team and demonstrate and promote operational discipline when executing day-to-day activities

Requirements

  • Minimum Degree in any field and /or relevant experience.
  • Familiarity in 1SAP module and Microsoft Office Suite SAP, Procure to Pay or similar ERP P2P processes is a must
  • Possess good working knowledge of process improvement processes and methodology
  • Developing and maintaining stakeholder relationships and working with and influencing a range of cross-functional stakeholders. 
  • Ability to prioritise workload, Good analytical, investigative and problem-solving skills.
  • Good communication and negotiation skills, both written and verbal will be essential in this role.
  • Interpersonal abilities to work effectively across functions.
  • Experience working within Purchasing, Payment Services and Supply/Commercial teams in the resource industry
  • Exposure within Warehousing, Inventory, Repairable Management, Commodities and Services Purchasing is desirable but not essential
  • Ability to work independently under minimal supervision
