About The Program

As an intern, you will be part of a group of talented Designers, Engineers and others in related Design roles who manage products and solutions involving cross-functional teams focused on the delivery of exceptional product experiences. Your role is multi-disciplinary, delivering value in the form of design decisions. You lead design; to understand and empathize with people to help your cross-functional team solve customer and business problems. You won't be working alone. As a member of a centralized design team for Dell Digital, you'll receive guidance and mentorship from design leaders in our mission to ship world-class digital commerce products. Together we will affect millions of customers worldwide and help drive multi-billion-dollar businesses.

Responsibilities

• Take a user-centred approach to design process and methods
• Actively participate in the design process from problem discovery, framing, ideation, iterative development, delivery, and maintenance
• Guide and validate design decisions with user research methods and existing data
• Learn and balance user and business goals to achieve desirable, viable, and feasible solutions
• To be responsible for user research, interaction design, visual design, and content artifacts that communicate design decisions for the user experience and user interface
• Partner and collaborate effectively with researchers, engineers, designers, product owners, and business stakeholders on all initiatives
• Evolve and evangelize our Design System
• Ensure work is beyond just execution and metrics, data and value of design is being positioned in the forefront
• Continuing to contribute to the regional and strategy of the organization across the broader Dell Digital and Design teams
• Building strategic partnerships internal and external to Dell to engage in the larger design community in the region

Requirements

• Bachelors degree in Human-Computer Interaction (HCI), Digital Design, or similar
• Knowledge of standard design artifacts (user flows, wireframes, comps, prototypes) and able to execute them effectively with supervision.
• Knowledge of design critique practice and attends scheduled sessions
• Knowledge of the value of effective verbal and written communication
• Knowledge of the importance of their decisions to meet the needs and motivations of the user, not themselves.
• Knowledge of design and prototyping tools (Figma, Adobe XD, Sketch, and Adobe Creative Cloud Suite)
• A portfolio or samples of project work demonstrating the application of Design principles/ User-Centered Design.
