We developed this taster skills session on Understanding yourself and others as it’s important to develop your emotional intelligence. This is the ability to understand and manage your own emotions, and to demonstrate an awareness of the people around you and their emotions. People with a high degree of emotional intelligence know what they're feeling, what their emotions mean, and how these emotions can affect other people. At Deutsche Bank, interaction with your colleagues and our clients is quite simply the way we do our business. Successful interactions with others, for example, demonstrating an understanding of their pressures, their workloads whilst showing strong listening skills and empathy are examples of emotional intelligence and developing it is essential for success.
