Hong Leong Bank Berhad or well-known as HLB is a regional financial services company based in Malaysia, with a presence in Singapore, Hong Kong, Vietnam, Cambodia, and China. As one of Malaysia's largest banks, Hong Leong Bank operates about 200 branches in its home country.

Your role

Graduate Trainee (GT) programs are developed for specific business divisions and are uniquely tailored in collaboration with business leaders. The GT programs serve to develop subject matter experts within their selected divisions, with the aim of creating a holistic young banker at the end of each program.

Training & development

GT Programs typically consist of 3 rotations across various departments within the division, supported by coaching from line managers. The first rotation includes onboarding, attachment to a department, and training including professional certifications. Training continues in the second and third rotations, together with any further exams for certification, during which there will be further opportunities to widen your depth of knowledge in your chosen program.

In addition, you are assigned a supervisor as soon as your start. He or she will help facilitate what you want from your career decisions and the best way to achieve it within the organization. Each area has its own tailored development agenda based on a standardized Hong Leong Bank framework which includes:

•   Classroom-based and facilitator-led training
•   Web-based or online virtual learning
•   Rotation attachments at business-driven teams and support units
•   Professional certification
•   Coaching and mentoring

Career progression

This program is designed to prepare Hong Leong Bank Malaysia's future leader. At the end of the program, you will be placed in Business & Corporate or other Divisions to further your ongoing career development path.

Work-life balance

HLB Malaysia keeps employees' work-life balance. The company provides 22 days of annual leaves for the employees to enjoy their life. The workload given is also acceptable as described first. In addition, HLP applied normal working hours, not exceeding more than 8 hours per day and more than 45 hours per week. However, you must work overtime at the end of the month of the year.

About you
