Your role

As a Partner Technical Specialist aligned to Security brands, you’ll be a collaborative technical expert and trusted advisor working with and across your clients, IBM’s broader sales teams, and Business Partners. You’ll understand clients’ business and technical requirements within the current competitive landscape and, combining this with your knowledge of IBM’s product suite, you’ll present value-driving solutions that compel clients to invest in IBM.

  • Being the go-to Security expert with a deep technical ownership of sales opportunities across your squad.
  • Providing technical support throughout the early technology sales cycle, including demos, proofs of concept, and workshops for clients of all sizes – Prospective and existing.
  • Using various collaboration tools and techniques to partner across IBM sales teams and specialists on territory management, strategies and opportunity identification.
  • Positioning the value and advantages of assigned brand products in comparison to the competition.
  • Developing and maintaining a strong personal brand that continually builds your reputation of trust, expertise, and credibility across a variety of digital platforms (social media, forums, and blogs, etc).
  • Responsible for influencing the partner’s technical strategy toward IBM’s Technology, in this case security technology
  • Works to incorporate and embed IBM Security technology into the partner’s reference architectures, practices, and solutions
  • Coordinates IBM Security technical expertise to identify, design, and implement valued client and partner-centric solutions
  • Increase partner technical capabilities to demonstrate and deploy IBM Security technology at scale with partner firms’ sales and technical seller

About you

Required technical and professional expertise you should have to apply for this role:

  • You are in your final year of tertiary education OR have graduated from university no earlier than 2021.
  • You studied a technical degree i.e., Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, or an equivalent subject.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills that are equally engaging, compelling, and influential.


Preferred technical and professional expertise

  • 1 year of software sales experience with demonstrable examples of contributing to the solving of clients’ problems.
  • Hands-on exposure to real-world applications of computer science, information systems, or engineering concepts.
