Your role

In this role, you will have the responsibilities below:

• Work scope: Work with the FEA manager to enable FEA deployment to determine mechanical assessment and successful remedial solutions for oil and gas R&D activity.
• Expected to:
  • Work with clients to understand mechanical integrity challenges, and work under FEA manager to translate physical work into  FEA analysis.
  • Convey FEA assessment results to the client for verification, validation, and further work.

About you

Qualifications:

• Preferred duration of internship: 6 months
• Preferences in Degree Background: Mechanical Engineering
• Preferences in knowledge in specific fields: Mechanical integrity assessment via Finite Element Analysis (FEA)

Additionally, you must also meet the following requirements for the internship at PETRONAS Malaysia:

• The application is open to Malaysian citizens only.
• Undergraduate degree from local or overseas higher learning institutions where internship is a mandatory part of course completion in disciplines relevant to PETRONAS.
• Diploma from local or overseas higher learning institutions where the internship is a mandatory part of course completion in TECHNICAL or ENGINEERING disciplines relevant to PETRONAS.
• The minimum duration for an internship is eight (8) weeks and a maximum of eight (8) months.

Training & development

PETRONAS Internship Opportunity Program provides undergraduates with experiential learning opportunities and first working exposure in the energy industry. You can engage in various areas of a global company’s operations.

You will be encouraged to undergo industrial training related to your respective fields of study. Places for industrial training are limited, depending on the availability of various departments and subsidiaries within PETRONAS. However, you may also seek placement with organizations in the country where you are studying.

PETRONAS doesn't specifically mention the career progression for this role. However, depending on various factors such as performance, availability of positions, and organizational needs, some interns may have the opportunity to transition into full-time employment.
