Your role

The whole program is established with active participation expected. Technical coaches provide working assignments and actively guide and coach you during the program. General soft-skill training and its utilization are intensively used. To be successful in the program, you are challenged to practice being proactive, stay curious, be creative, and be resilient to make mistakes (fail fast > learn fast). Willingness to learn and to take more, collaborate, and strive for excellence are some of the other qualities that are examined and expected.

Training & development

The Internship Opportunity Programme offered by Petronas Malaysia is designed to provide undergraduates with experiential learning opportunities and first working exposure in the energy industry. The program is established with active participation expected, and technical coaches provide working assignments and actively guide and coach you during the program. General soft-skill training is also provided and its utilization is intensively used.

Work-life balance

Typically, the working hours here are 9 hours per day (08:00 AM to 05:00 PM), Monday to Friday (45 hours per week). About you

Qualifications you should have to apply for this role:

• Minimum of Diploma degree in Computer science or equivalent
• Min CGPA 3.0 & above 
• Experience in web or mobile software development
• Proficient in any of the following: HTML5, CSS, and Javascript
• Proficient to use any database with SQL
• Passion for technology and writing code

The eligibility criteria you need to meet to apply for this program:

• Malaysian or PETRONAS- Sponsored Student pursuing an undergraduate degree in higher learning institutions, either in Malaysia or overseas, in related disciplines where an internship is a mandatory part of course completion (preference will be given to third and final-year students). Application is not included for international students who are studying in overseas learning institutions.
• Application is also open to Malaysians pursuing diploma degrees in higher learning institutions, either in Malaysia or overseas, in technical / engineering disciplines where the internship is a mandatory part of course completion.
• Internship participation for a minimum duration of eight (8) weeks and a maximum of eight (8) months.
• Submission of the following documents (completed documents MUST be submitted via the application portal)
  • Curriculum Vitae
  • Copy of latest academic results
  • Copy of the Industrial Training / Internship Letter (signed by the University)
