Your role

Western Digital is seeking highly motivated university students to learn and contribute hands-on while working with the Operations and Facilities team. This is a great opportunity to get exposure to the world of project management, and executing preventive maintenance of mechanical and electrical systems at the site.

In this role your main tasks are as follows:

• To assist the Operations and Facilities team in the implementation of preventive maintenance of mechanical and electrical systems;
  • Mechanical Systems – Cooling Tower System, Chiller System, Pumps System, DI Water Systems, Vacuum Pump Systems, and Air Handling Unit (AHU).
  • Electrical System – Switchboard Maintenance, Lighting System, Capacitor Bank, and Real Time Power Monitoring System.
  • To learn and understand how Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS) works.
• To assist facilities engineer an implementation Facility Management and Control System (FMCS) expansion project for pumps, and AHU systems and to understand how the FMCS system works 
• To assist the FLSS engineer with an implementation scheduled inspection and preventive maintenance. To understand how fire protection systems work.
• To assist the implementation of energy savings activities and understand the energy management system.
• To assist the Operations Manager in implementing minor projects, project management, and activities for company-wide events

About you

To apply for this role, you need to meet the following requirements:

• Degree in Mechanical/Electrical Engineering
• Knowledge of schematics and PI&D Diagram
• Good interpersonal skills, ability to develop good relationships with all levels of employees
• Ability to communicate effectively (written & spoken in English & Bahasa Melayu)
• Ability to work with people in a culturally diverse environment
