Your role

Description

WorldFish would like to hire an intern who will support the HR department. The Intern will assist with numerous HR projects or activities from time to time. Additionally, they will participate in organizing events. This role provides valuable hands-on experience in HR processes, allowing interns to gain a comprehensive understanding of HR functions and contribute to the smooth operation of the department.

The successful candidate will

  • Assist with WorldFish online onboarding program improvement with improved induction checklist and reporting.
  • Assist in developing and strengthening the WorldFish internship program structure according to WorldFish policy.
  • Assist in recruitment-related projects such as further development of recruitment-related templates.
  • Assist in supporting the development of our careers pages on our website and intranet (fishnet).
  • Assist in supporting the HR policy review.
  • Participate in organizing company events and career days.
  • Assist in administration of staff welfare which includes coordination of Tuesday Breakfast, coordinating with suppliers for timely delivery of fruit baskets, baby hamper, etc.
  • Assist the HQ HR team with flight bookings and travel expense claims.
  • General support to the HR Team in HQ.

About you

This opportunity will be suitable for you if you have the following skills and qualifications:

  • The candidate either will have obtained or currently be working towards obtaining a BSc in Human Resources Management or a similar field.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
  • Experience with MS Office (word, PowerPoint, Excel, etc).
  • Strong organizational skills.
  • Good understanding of human resources activities.
  • Proficiency in graphic design tools as well as video editing software.

Location and duration:

Successful intern will be based at WorldFish Headquarters, in Penang, Malaysia. The successful candidate should be available to commence the internship as soon as possible for 06 months. This position is open only to national applicants. Interviews are expected to be held in September 2024 and only shortlisted candidates will be notified and expected to attend the interview.

Training & development

Referring to the majority of the previous interns' online reviews, there is no specific mention of a training & development program for interns at WorldFish Malaysia. However, most interns expressed that the internship supervisor was great at mentoring, supporting, and guiding interns during the program. All other colleagues are also very helpful to interns so they can learn and work smoothly.

Career progression

This internship opportunity is an excellent opportunity to gain information and experience with an international research organization. While there's no mention of any career progression in the organization after interns complete the program, having internship experience here will surely add more value to your CV and widen career opportunities in the future.
